Building Godly Character Traits

Understand that the word of the Lord is complete in every way.  Therefore I will not add to it.  The verses come straight from the King James Bible, while the definition will be taken from the Strong’s Concordance.

Strong’s Concordance Definition: “Humble”

to be afflicted, be bowed down, to humbled, be meek

Proverbs 29:23  A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

  1. Ephesians 4:1-3 comes to mind for me. The King James uses “lowliness and meekness” but the idea is the same. In the NASB it is:
4 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Thank you for sharing these verses!

    • Jessica thank you so much for adding. Yes, Ephesians 4 is a perfect fit for this study as well. Actually there are many little “golden nuggets” in Ephesians.
